Swift has completed a landmark interoperability trial with BNP Paribas, Intesa Sanpaolo, and Société Générale, demonstrating seamless coordination of tokenized asset transactions across multiple platforms. The initiative focused on tokenized bonds, covering delivery-versus-payment settlement, interest payouts, and redemption events. Financial institutions played key roles as paying agents, custodians, and registrars, proving digital assets can integrate with legacy infrastructure.

The trial builds on Swift's growing portfolio of blockchain initiatives, including ISO 20022 interoperability tests with HSBC and digital currency settlement experiments with Citi. In a parallel development, Swift partnered with UBS Asset Management and chainlink to bridge tokenized assets with traditional payment systems—a strategic move that could accelerate institutional adoption of blockchain-based finance.
